Bushfire Heartbreak depicts the horror and life-threatening nature of bushfires. The story of Peggy Bogar and her Hungarian husband Steven is one of courage and the ability to overcome disability.
Peggy, born in St Helens in Tasmania, received a Catholic education at Waterton Hall, Rowella and St Thomas More’s, Newstead. After dabbling in hairdressing and nursing she entered a monastery in Bendigo and became Sister Bernard of Jesus. On leaving the Order, Peggy gained a UTAS nursing degree and a prize for excellence in nursing. She has worked at St Luke’s, Medea Park, Launceston General Hospital, Cosgrove Park, Concord Hospital i(Sydney) and a dementia care unit. Peggy is a mother and grandmother and lives at Scamander with Steven and is now a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
